We welcome you to participate in the 19th Biennial UGIM,
the University, Government, Industry Micro/Nano Symposium.

The goal of this symposium is to bring together educators and researchers around the world involved in academic laboratory development and management, and to provide a forum for exchanging information and presenting new research and educational concepts.

Representatives of university micro/nano fabrication facilities, ranging from small to large labs to nationally recognized facilities, present their know-how and participate in open discussions, exchanging useful and workable ideas concerning all aspects of teaching and research laboratory management.

Government agencies such as NSF, NIH, NIST, SRC, DoE and ONR regularly participate with updates on research policy and funding opportunities.

Industry interactions with universities, including technology transfer, collaborative research, and training efforts are frequently presented.

The UGIM symposium will be held on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley. During the 2-day event, participants will have the opportunity to tour Berkeley’s Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory and the Molecular Foundry of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

The date of the UGIM 2012 symposium, July 9-10, 2012, allows participants to attend Semicon West, July 10-12 in San Francisco. www.semiconwest.org
